Part II of the Upside of R&R Home

In October of 1972, we went to England and Europe to record what would be called our "Around the World" album. The European part of the tour was cut short, due to domestic problems a member was having. This is private stuff and I'll let it go at that. We never got to Denmark and Sweden, as planned.

Oct 6th:The Sundown Theatre in London. Oct. 18th: Frankfurt: Yar Hunderthallen. My notes say that we also, taped our own BBC television special while in England and also made appearances on "Top of the Pops." I remember doing "Pops," but don't recall the tv special. We were excited that our album would debut on Radio Luxembourg. It regularly reaches millions of listeners throughout Europe and, via short-wave, every other part of the world. Never before had it devoted itself to the premiere of a record album.

Also on tour with us was an all girl band named, Bertha. A good group with a couple of real characters in the band. It was fun doing dates together. A nice bunch of rock ladies. The drummer's name was "Liver" and she was a pistol. Lots of fire in that witto female. A fun person. She played drums aggressively with a male attitude. And speaking of fire ...

A smoking gun?

No, a Gibson Les Paul.

We don't need no stinking badges!

Below: A Gary Larson classic that just had to be in here.

Graphic deleted due to FarSide copyright infringement. It was the one that showed a rock n roll band on stage. The perspective was the viewer looking over the sound mixers left shoulder and you could see his mixing console. The audience was throwing bottles at the band. The title of the graphic was "RAYMOND'S LAST DAY AS THE BANDS SOUND TECHNICIAN." He was smiling an evil grin and adjusting a knob labeled SUCK! A great one. A classic, really.

Me in England, October of 1972.
