Part II of the Upside of R&R Home

   The spring of 1973 brought two new road crew members to our organization, Freeman Batchelor and Michael "Tiny" Gossen. After touring in the spring of 1973 with new bass player, Jack Ryland, we returned to the studio to start working on our next album. It would be called "Cyan," which is a color of blue.

I recently found some old studio photos from the CYAN recording sessions. Have a look.

   Above: Jimmy on piano rambles between takes. Sneed, seen below, gives me his best, "I have no idea that you're taking my picture" fake look. I used to tell him he had "UniRoyals" for lips. (actually, after closer inspection, I have determined that this is a shot of Sneed at the "bass player" audition rehearsals. As you know, Jack Ryland stood out as the best.
